Former Resident Thomas Gives Back By Volunteering

Volunteer Your Time and Talents

After a long stay at the Mission, Thomas was able to battle his anger issues and learn to trust the Lord. After moving out on his own, he chose to give back to the Mission by applying for one of the many Mission volunteer opportunities, serving as a driver.

“Not only am I stable, but I can come back now and donate my time to help others who are trying to climb the same ladder that I climbed.”

Volunteering is a great opportunity for the community to become directly involved in the work we do. The truth is, the task that we as a staff are undertaking is so significant that we can't do it alone. Volunteers play a pivotal role in helping our residents change their lives.

The Volunteer Application Process

Apply

The first step in becoming a volunteer is completing our online volunteer application. Let us know who you are and in what ways you would like to serve with us! We have several volunteer opportunities available. Note that some roles require a background check and/or a pastoral reference letter. Contact us with any questions about your application.

Connect

Next, our staff will review your application and verify that we have all the information that we need to get you started. Our volunteer coordinator will connect with you and discuss some options for serving with us. We want to make sure that your area of service is a right fit for both you and the Mission.

Serve

Finally, you will be introduced to your volunteer site manager. They will work with you to develop a volunteering schedule that’s convenient for you as well as train you on the basics of what you need to know to be a rockstar Mission volunteer. All that is left is for you to show up at your scheduled time and lend us your talents!

Holiday Meal Volunteer Opportunities

Holiday Meal on Table

Each year, we open the doors of the Mission to the community to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas. Our holiday dinners are made possible with the help of generous volunteers willing to cook, clean, serve and fellowship with our residents and guests. If you’d like to bless the Mission this holiday season, consider signing up for one of our volunteer opportunities at a holiday dinner.
